Soomin has taught English at South Pasadena Middle School since 2007. She holds both English and a Multi-subject credential and gained her elementary teaching experience in LAUSD. Soomin has been an instructional teacher leader at SPMS.

She developed and implemented site based teacher training seminars on educational technology and student motivation. She has also developed an on-line writing program for English, and a cross-curricular research project using Moodle technology. She has a strong background in data analysis and is currently completing her doctorate degree in Educational Psychology from the Rossier School of Education at USC.
